Food, Fireworks and Festivities: Columbia County Celebrates 20 Years of 4th of July Fun!

Columbia County is proud to present a FREE day of fun and festivities at the county's largest 4th of July celebration and fireworks displays on Friday, July 4th at our *brand new* location in beautiful Evans Towne Center Park! Positioned on the corner of Ronald Reagan Drive and Evans Town Center Boulevard, Evans Towne Center Park is home of the Lady A Pavilion and will serve as the perfect backdrop for a day filled with fun activities and live entertainment throughout the day. Parking will be available in the field across the street on Evans Town Center Boulevard as well as the government complex and library. The event will kick-off at 2 p.m. and will continue throughout the day until the fireworks finale after dark!

Patriotic performances will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the secondary stage located under the gazebo (near the playground) with Living Room Legends followed by the Jerusalem Sounds Brass Band at 5:00 p.m. Performances on the main stage are set to being at 4:00 p.m. with the Abilene Baptist Church choir & orchestra, followed by the Ft. Gordon Signal Corps Army Band at 6:30 p.m. and the main event at 8:00 p.m. featuring Hack Bartley & Shuffle. Hack is one of the original members of the Swingin' Medallions so get ready to dance and sing along with your favorite beach and classic rock tunes!

Kids are invited to test out the all new addition to our top of the line play area, after the ribbon-cutting ceremony set to take place at 11 a.m. that day. Swim suits are encouraged for the little one, as there will be inflatable, FREE water slides to accompany our wet and wild time at the splash pad.  Along with the FREE water slides, there will be ticketed carnival rides, a rockclimbing wall and indoor video game counsels. Take your best shot at some classic field day favorites such as sack races & pig tosses with our family field day hosted by the Abilene Baptist Church early in the day. Later on, families can enjoy a unique experience at the park by taking a ride up in a hot air balloon to enjoy breath-taking views of Columbia County. Tickets can be purchased for hot air balloon rides on site.

'Pig Toss' is just one of the family field day activities being presented by Abilene Baptist Church

There will be vendors galore serving up all of your favorite summer time food fare so don't forget to bring your appetite! From the traditional hamburgers and hot dogs to award winning BBQ and delicious, thirst-quenching homemade summertime lemonade there is certain to be something for everyone as well as plenty of frozen treats to keep you cool! ***Although food vendors will be on site, coolers are allowed for this event only.***

The day will be capped off at dark with a stunning display of fireworks and Patriotic music. For this event, we ask that you leave your pets at home as loud noises tend to frighten them.

So gather your family and friends, bring your blankets, chairs, coolers, and some spare cash for snacks and fun activities (ATM Machines will be on site), and bring them out to Evans Towne Center Park for a 4th of July celebration that you will surely not forget!

  1. We had great food at NY events; I personally ate the mushroom ravioli. Yum! We did a full service, 3 courses, sit down meal. The waiters also provided wine and drinks during dinner.
